Birthdays

My 44th birthday was on August 22nd.  It was a great day.  I have many blessings.

I love Brighton.  www.brighton.com

Brighton shoes, purses, baubles.  Especially the baubles.

Stephen and Carmen have gotten me several charms the past couple of years.  My newest one is the carousel.  It spins, really.

So from left to right...Peridot (August's birthstone), pink gems spacer, J with pink flowers (of course, how did Brighton know?), rainbow spacer (David got that one for me), A with a lady bug (My Mom's favorite - again, how did Brighton know?), silver and gold spacer, Arkansas Pig (Yep, I am a Razorback), pink tiger eye spacer, and my newest - the carousel.

Beth

My friend Beth.
This is my favorite photo of her.
She was so done with me and my camera.
I had the pleasure of attending the American Cancer Ball with her.
Her hair had grown back, and the dress had a lace up back.

Her birthday is today, August 17.
We used to celebrate our birthdays together.
I miss that.
She would have been 38 today.
Breast cancer affects so many.
Beth was strong, happy, and always smiling.
I miss her.  She touched many of us.
Happy Birthday Beth.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mother's birthday is today.
June 30, 1936.
Lore Mayer David Thurman.
Mom, Mommie, Oma.

Lore sitting on her hill in Germany around 1956.
Moms passport visa picture for her trip abroad (Chicago, Illinois).

Oma with her kint.  Chocolate cake being shared with Carmen and Stephen, 2002.

In honor of my beautiful German Mom:
 Rouladen.
My mothers wonderful recipe.
She submitted this for a cooking contest.
I don't remember her winning anything, but she was published.
Enjoy!
And, Happy Birthday Mom!  I love you so.

Stephen's 13th Birthday

We celebrated Stephens 13th Birthday on Wednesday, December 2nd.  It was a school day, and work day, so not much celebrating.

But we did have cake.

chocolate cake.

And 13 candles, and maybe a wish or two.

We did have a small party for him at the bowling alley with two of his friends, Nico and Alex on Friday. I think they had fun.  We did.

It is hard to believe that my youngest is 13.  I know that we all have to go through this...but I am feeling really old.

We have two great kids.  And, now both are teenagers.  It's not as bad as everyone talks about.
